Apple
Blossom School and Family Center welcomes parents and young children
to experience a nurturing, home-like setting. Our Parent & Toddler
program is designed to meet the social needs of young children
(12 months - 3 years) while providing loving support for parents.
Younger siblings may attend.
Our teacher, with parents, will strive to create a warm and nurturing
environment that seeks to surround the children with rhythm, reverence,
and adult gestures worthy of imitation.
You and/or your child will experience…
- Time
to play freely and independently with soft, simple, natural
materials chosen to engage the young child's imagination while
parents observe while engaging in healthy activity.
- Celebration
of the seasons through festivals, finger puppet plays, stories,
exploring nature and making simple crafts.
- Circle
Play learning songs, rhymes, finger plays and simple age appropriate
movements.
- Adults
working together in purposeful, quiet activity, tending inside
and out by gardening, preparing whole foods, washing, carding
wool, sewing, and felting.
- Sharing
a nourishing meal together, which in a spirit of gratitude fosters
reverence and provides sociability for all.
- Outside
play together in all weather to encourage healthy movement and
natural recognition and reverence for the seasons.
Our
program seeks to aid the young child in building a secure bridge
to his or her new and expanding world, while at the same time, helping
the adult to awaken conscious parenting.
2008 -
2009 Program Dates:
We will be offering 2 sessions during the school year. The program
meets once a week. You may apply for one or more sessions at a
time.
The
cost per session is $600 which includes a $25 materials fee.
This is a family fee covering a maximum of one adult and two children
ages 12 months - 3 years of age. All participants should plan to attend
the Orientation Evening on the Thursday before the session begins.
The Fall Sessions (Session 1) are:
Monday or Thursday or Friday
9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
September - December, 15 classes
or
The Spring Sessions (Session 2) are:
Monday or Thursday or Friday
9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
January - June, 15 classes
To apply, download the application (see left) and submit to Apple Blossom. You will become part of a waiting pool. You will be called when a space is available. At that time, a check submitted to Apple Blossom School for the full amount ($600) will hold your spot. |
