Brigette Bean
Nursery Program Assistant Teacher (Forest Daisy Class)
Originally from Texas, Brigette came to Connecticut in 2023 with an invitation from her darling aunt, a fellow Waldorf pedagogue, and uncle, a financial executive, to receive guidance and mentorship for her budding career in banking analytics as she was working to complete a graduate degree in Professional and Technical Communications at the University of North Texas.
In the meantime, Brigette worked at the Housatonic Valley Waldorf School (HVWS) over the past year as a substitute for all grades and age groups along with participating as a summer day camp counselor from June to August of 2023. Through both of these experiences, Brigette found that working with children, especially those in early childhood, had fully unlocked a true passion for her that she has chosen to further and actualize by completely switching gears to become a lasting Waldorf educator.
Through her graduate pursuits, Brigette received the opportunity to work as an administrative intern at HVWS where she has thoroughly researched and familiarized herself with the Waldorf pedagogy. Additionally, Brigette previously completed a Bachelor of Science in Communications Studies with a minor in Environmental Biology at Tarleton State University and is in preparation to begin teacher training starting in the Summer of 2024 at Sophia’s Hearth to support her love and growing passion for working with children within the Waldorf community, and serving as a positive role in their development.
