Dasha Bukovska

Lead Teacher for the Nursery Program (Daisy Class)

In 2019, Dasha started her Waldorf Early Childhood teacher training at Sophia's Hearth in Keene, NH, from which she will graduate this summer. Studying Waldorf education and also learning about Dr. Emmi Pikler's approach to childcare has been deeply meaningful and fulfilling for Dasha. Her ultimate joy comes from bringing these approaches to the children in her class. Dasha first worked as a Rose class assistant in 2008 and is very happy to be spending her days with children, teachers and parents at Apple Blossom School since the Fall of 2017. A Czech native, she first learned about Waldorf education when studying for her Master's degree at Charles University in Prague. Once her first child was born, Waldorf principles became truly life-changing. Her son joined the Waldorf playgroup at Apple Blossom and later moved to the Housatonic Valley Waldorf School (HVWS) in Newtown from which he graduated in 8th grade. Her daughter followed a similar path and is currently a grade student at HVWS. Studying Anthroposophy (the basis for Waldorf education, medicine, architecture and more) sparked much curiosity for Dasha. For several years she hosted an anthroposophical study group in her home in Newtown, CT where she lives with her husband and two children.
