Bryn Kauppinen

Bryn Kauppinen is the Assistant Kindergarten teacher for the Sunflower class at Apple Blossom Waldorf School and Family Center. She finds deep joy in nurturing the wonder and imagination of young children. When introduced to Waldorf education, she fell in love with Steiner’s philosophy on child development and inner development. She has continued to deepen her understanding of Waldorf education through an introductory course on Waldorf education and the role of the assistant teacher at Sophia’s Hearth, as well as coursework on oral storytelling at WECAN. Bryn holds a degree from Barnard College of Columbia University where she studied environmental science and sustainability. Her love of the natural world weaves in Waldorf pedagogy, particularly its emphasis on seasonal rhythms, reverence for nature, and nurturing children’s relationships to the natural world. Outside of school, she enjoys knitting and crocheting, walking throughout nature preserves, and studying anthroposophy. Bryn is very grateful to be part of Apple Blossom community.
