Early Childhood - Lead Teacher

The Apple Blossom School & Family Center is seeking a full time Early Childhood Lead Teacher for the 2024-25 school year. The position can begin as early as June 2024. 

​

Qualifications: A warm and open disposition with the ability to care for children of mixed ages. Eagerness to learn about Apple Blossom and Waldorf education. Waldorf Education Certification from an approved program, or in the process of obtaining certification. Several years of classroom experience is preferred.

​

Requirements: A Bachelor or Masters degree and Waldorf teacher training certificate or in the process of obtaining one. The ability to meet Connecticut OEC licensing requirements, including yearly professional development, as well as ability to pass a CT criminal background check.

Apple Blossom Waldorf School and Family Center is a full member of WECAN, located in Wilton, Connecticut, “a lovely piece of heaven in a bustling world.” In its 19th year the School and Family Center is expanding and moving to a larger home down the road.

Early Childhood - Assistant Teacher 

Apple Blossom Waldorf School & Family Center is seeking an Early Childhood assistant teacher for the 2024-25 school year. This is a part-time, hourly position with the potential to be full time, in our Nursery (18 months - 3 years old) or Kindergarten classroom (3 - 6 years old). Our school is growing, so there is room for professional growth.
 

Skills

  • Interest in working with children under the lead teacher's guidance.

  • Enjoy daily active engagement in work (for example gardening).

  • Enjoy domestic activities such as preparing snack, dish washing…

  • Be attentive to all areas involving the safety and well-being of the children.

  • Be a quiet, but active presence in the classroom.

  • Work with children one-on-one and in a small group.

  • Be open and receptive to suggestions.

  • Radiate a joyful inner mood.

  • Maintain confidentiality.

  • Re-direct parental questions to the lead teacher.
     

Qualifications:  A warm and open disposition with the ability to lovingly care for children of mixed ages. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and hold a bachelor’s degree. Eagerness to learn about Apple Blossom and Waldorf education. Waldorf training and experience preferred, but not required.
 

Requirements: The ability to meet Connecticut OEC licensing requirements including yearly professional development, as well as to pass a CT criminal background check. To be able to lift and carry small children during caregiving times
